"Could vitamin deficiency
cause vaginal dryness?"

Dear Jacqui,
I'm 30 years old and experiencing vaginal dryness during intercourse and daily fatigue when not involved in physical activity. I also do not have a strong sex drive; however, that's not abnormal in my case. My question is there a chance that I might be lacking vitamins, which might be attributing to the vaginal dryness and daily fatigue? My low sex drive has always existed but not the vaginal dryness. Thank you Jacqui, Patsy

Dear Patsy,
I have a couple of suggestions. Your daily fatigue and your low sexual drive might be caused by a physiological problem, i.e. something going on in your body that's not right. Low hormone levels could explain the low sexual drive or any number of other medical causes, so I suggest you get a thorough check-up. Vaginal dryness could be related to low hormone levels, it often is, especially in young women.

For the time being, use an intimate moisturizer before intimacy so you don't hurt the vaginal tissue, it is also easier to become aroused when you are well lubricated. However, there is also a possibility that the cause of your symptoms in stress and anxiety. What is going on in your life? You see, stress, and emotional difficulties have great influence on our physical well being; including hormone production, dryness, and fatigue.

Often fatigue is due to emotional exhaustion. I commend you that you are trying to help yourself and have taken the first step in writing to me. Now, be good to yourself, take another step. See your doctor and, if everything is ok, you might wish to talk a few times to a therapist. I am sure your problems can be resolved. Best wishes.

Jacqui
