"Can a spermicidal
prevent that fishy odor?"

Dear Jacqui,
Would the use of a spermicidal help prevent that fishy odor?
Connie

Dear Connie,
No, spermicidals do not cover a fishy odor. If the odor is noticeable after intercourse it may be related to the presence of semen in the vagina, which causes a chemical reaction that can produce odor.

If the odor is pervasive and continues, it is quite possibly associated with a vaginal infection in which case I suggest you have a gynecological check up. Also, be sure that you use a pH balanced soap or body wash such as Very Private pH balanced Body Wash for vaginal cleansing.

Fragrance, chemical dyes, plant and other additives often destroy the healthy vaginal pH, which actually protects you against vaginal infections or irritations. Also, remember to void after intimacy and use plenty of lukewarm water for rinsing. Avoid scented bubble baths and all vaginal douches or sprays.
