"I got little red bumps and
it itches a lot down there"

Dear Jacqui,
I've had red and white bumps in and around my vaginal area for the past couple weeks. This has cause a lot of itching. I did see my doctor about two months ago. At that time I was diagnosed with a yeast infection. Do you think I have some kind of genital warts and should I stop having sex as well? Louise

Dear Louise,
It is hard to tell from your e-mail but the possibility exists that your recent yeast infection was not cured. Not every drug works for every yeast infection and sometimes it takes two cycles to clear up the infection. Also, sometimes two infections occur at the same time. I strongly suggest that you have a repeat visit with the doctor who diagnosed your infection before. It is NOT normal for the tissue to be very read and skin eruptions (bumps) to persist. Do you have any other symptoms such as discharge?

I would also suggest that you take special care of your personal hygiene rituals. During an infection only use cotton panties or pantyhose with cotton inset. Wash with pH-balanced products only, such as a pH balanced mild soap or Body Wash; such as Very Private pH balanced Body Wash, which actually contains an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent. Do NOT sit in bath with any bath fragrance products. In fact, please avoid all products in the vaginal area containing fragrance, chemical coloring or plant additives. They often affect the normal, healthy pH balance, which gives you protection against irritation and infections.

Before you know if you do or don't have another infection I would suggest that you do not have sexual intimacy. I hope this is of help.

Best wishes,

Jacqui
