Your web site states that the pill will increase vaginal dryness. My doctor just prescribed the pill for me to reduce vaginal dryness. The pill is supposed to increase my estrogen level. Is he wrong?

Neither answer is wrong. According to a number of studies a majority of women experience increased dryness by being on the pill, some react differently. It is true that intimate moisture availability is connected with your hormone levels and, when estrogen begins to level off during menopause, women often experience vaginal dryness.

But many younger women who have completely normal estrogen levels have found that being on "The Pill" which will increase your hormone level, has made them "dryer." If vaginal dryness is the only reason your doctor prescribed the pill, I would do a little more research, maybe get a second opinion. The pill contains estrogen, a potent hormone that has a number of side effects.

If you do go on the pill make a conscious note of the date you start taking it and then keep track.
