"I have the opposite of vaginal dryness,
what can I do to enjoy penetration more?"

Dear Jacqui,
I see many questions regarding dryness during intercourse. My problem is the opposite, before we even begin foreplay, is this normal? Is there anything I should do? I've been in my relationship for about 10 months. I feel it takes away from the enjoyment of penetration.

Dear Bobby-Sue,
Yes, there are quite a few women who experience the same symptoms as you do. Often it is a function of hormonal activity. Since I don't know if you are on "the pill", or any medication that could be contributory, I suggest you discuss the issue with your gynecologist.

As a practical matter, washing before intimacy will remove some of the excess moisture your body produces. And, possibly, if you come to orgasm before your partner enters you might also help and be very pleasurable.

Many sexologist in fact believe that it is preferable for the woman to have an orgasm before entry. Your moisture is stored in the vaginal walls and two little glands called the Bartholin glands. During the arousal stage a signal from the brain provokes the release of the moisture. There is a possibility that there is a physiological dysfunction, but only your gynecologist could make that determination. I am sure with a little patience you can solve the problem. Best wishes.

Jacqui
