Menopause & Menstruation
"I'm bleeding between menstruations
and it's causing problems!"

Dear Jacqui,
Hello, I don't know if you can advise me or not. I'm 40 and have children. About 3 months ago I started to bleed in between periods and then lately the pains and cramps have increased. My doctor has put me on the pill to see if this will sort it out but I am still bleeding in between periods and after intercourse. I find that I have no patience with my children and think it's because of my problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks,
Gidget.

Dear Gidget,
From what you tell me I believe the irregularity, bleeding, pain, emotional mood swings are clearly connected with your hormonal activity which is why your doctor put you on "The Pill" to try to regulate it. Have you reported back to your doctor and told him about the bleeding and your emotional stress. If not, do so. If you don't feel comfortable with your doctor, I suggest you get a second opinion.

Hormones are serious treatments. They affect almost all functions of the body, both physiological and psychological, so you want to be sure that you are doing the right thing. Bravo for facing up to the problem and seeking help. It's the right thing to do. With proper diagnosis, I am sure you can be helped.

Jacqui
