"Is she the one for me,
I'm afraid of rejection?"

Dear Jacqui,
I am in a relationship with a girl right now I've known her for about 4 years now and we were very good friends and still are. She would always be the one I could go to for my problems. But now we are together and I feel like she is the one for me. I have never felt this way about anyone before I love her so much and I want to know if she feels the same about me but too scared to ask fear of rejection I guess. What should I do?
Keith

Dear Keith,
Thank you for writing to us. I know it is hard to overcome one's own feelings of fear sometimes but...she is probably waiting for you to express your feelings and by doing so you might just make her very happy. You seem like such a loving person.

I'm sure your feelings are reciprocated, otherwise I doubt that your lady would still be with you after four years. To build a solid and lasting friendship which you obviously have is the most wonderful foundation for a lasting love. So, I suggest you go for a picnic, have a long wonderful walk together and tell her how absolutely wonderful you feel about her. She may or may not be ready for a commitment. It she isn't it doesn't mean she doesn't care for you.

Sometimes people have different emotional time schedules. Understand that even if she's not ready you gain by being able to express your feelings of love. She is your friend, she will definitely appreciate and respect your caring and honesty.

Jacqui
