to intercourse, it feels somehow unnatural." Dear Jacqui, She is 48 and does not like the idea of applying a lubricant just prior to intercourse etc. It feels somehow unnatural. My question is: Can these products be applied, early in the morning and still be effective by evening? I think it would ease her mind if she could apply it much like one would apply deodorant and go on her way without having to think about it anymore. Dear Steve, There is no "cure" for vaginal dryness, but there are products that feel very natural, in fact "bond" with a woman's own moisture to produce the needed, additional moisture instantly. These are vaginal moisturizers, not lubricants which were developed for men and tend to be feel more artificial. A vaginal moisturizer MUST BE FDA APPROVED because it is introduced inside the woman's body. It should be fragrance free, pH balanced, free of fragrance, additives or flavors to be safe. It must be used daily and always before intimacy to be really effective, just like a facial moisturizer. Contrary to general lubricants that only provide temporary "slip" and intimate moisturizer actually hydrates and protects the delicate vaginal tissue, just like a woman's own moisture does. I suggest your wife apply the intimate moisture at night as part of her evening hygiene routine so it doesn't feel like an intrusive act. It is not realistic to expect any moisturizer to provide protection all day and still provide the necessary moisture in the evening. All moisturizers blend into the tissue. There is some evaporation as well. Lubricants dry even more quickly and in general last only about ten minutes whereas moisturizers last longer. Furthermore, not all products feel unnatural. Many users tell us that Very Private Intimate Moisture feels very natural and works extremely well. You can find it on our website, www.veryprivate.com. I also suggest that your wife read some of our articles on menopause and vaginal dryness to understand the issues better. She is obviously going through a hard time and hopefully will feel less alone and more able to cope when she can learn about how other women deal with similar problems.
